Yet another run-of-the mill college-set visual novel, Hopeless Showmantic is a slice-of-life story that is centered around themes of unrealized potential and embracing authenticity in the face of peer pressure.

Dealing with an egregious combination of having a strong desire for self-freedom and being unsure about his future prospects, college freshman Seth Rylander struggles with poor academic performance and career plans. However, bumping into Benji Sato, a graduate student recruiting new members of a Performing Arts-related team, becomes a turning point in Seth's realization that taking a leap of faith can be worth it in the end.
