Kakeru is always alone. He lost his parents when he was a kid, and has been living alone since then. He studies at school during the daytime, and visits hospital to meet his younger sister after school. He is considered as a bad boy, and has no friends. But one day, he accidentally becomes friends with Natsumi, and is forced to join the newspaper club. At first, he reluctantly takes part in the activities, but he himself gradually changes.
