Once upon a time, the god of love—one of the most powerful deities—fell in love with a mortal. Predictably, it didn't end well.
Devastated by the loss of his lover, he withdrew from his duties and locked himself away in his abode; there, left both without the very thing he is bound to and his faith in it, the god began to wither.
