Have you ever noticed how undemanding we are to fairy tales? An intricate detective story always needs clever tricks to fool the jaded reader; a novel ought to have more drama to it, or else you are in risk of creating a cheap pulp fiction.

A good tale should be simple. But does that make it any less interesting? Our whole world, like fairy tales, is made up of simple plots. If we could learn to see them, how many simple truths would be revealed to our eyes!
