Takamine Rei has been seeing a dream in which a girl he doesn't know commits suicide. Living peacefully together with his older sister, he yet is troubled by an unusual worry.
To Rei, who enjoys browsing internet articles and news that illustrate the despair inevitably lurking in this world, the 'everyday' is just an illusion, a stifling world built up from the lies of 'outward appearances'. He wants out.

Rei comes across news of a series of violent killings, which are rumored on the net to be the work of 'Demons'. After watching a classmate (and idol) Sasaki Kiraka's broadcast video about 'Demons', he decides to set out and find out whether these so-called 'Demons' truly exist or not.
