Therese is the girl from a rich family that Claude meets when he first comes to Engelbourg. Therese possesses the power to hear the thoughts of others who are near her. However, as a result of this power, she is no longer able to speak and uses a bell to communicate with people. She has a very sweet personality and does get on well with other people.
