The main heroine. Sou's childhood friend who is in love with him. She is a second-year student in Class B. She is Sou's classmate and the vice-president of the astronomy club. She is kindhearted and is good at cooking. She lives together with her mother and Sou's in a house; Sou's room is in a building detached from the main house. At the beginning of the series, Kaori gets hit by a bus and ends up in a coma. This prompts Sou's to study science and medicine in order to save her.
