A student that has just transferred to the Rintoku Academy, Tooru is a boy that yearns for nothing more than to meet girls and eventually get himself a girlfriend. His timid and sometimes extremely apologetic demeanor at first makes him an easy target for some of the other students. Tohru was the #1 kendo practitioner in his former school, and was hailed as his kendo club's ace. He looks to get away from that image since to him sports clubs means interaction with only boys, and to that extent has done his best to make sure no one finds out about his past.
