At first he is not survived after saved Sora because he lost stamina more than he expected first. But after Sora meet him as ヒカリ (hikari) 9 years later, his death is change to amnesia. While he gets hospitalized (coma or not is not important), his other consciousness is trapped in ヒカリ (hikari) world but come back to main consciousness later together with ヒカリ (hikari) memories.
