During Asa's period in the Sengoku era, he not only oppressed the villagers with an iron fist but also engaged in rampant corruption. The magistrate extorted resources from the inhabitants, particularly their food supplies, leaving them with basically nothing to eat. Any opposition, no matter how slight, was met with swift and lethal punishment. The villagers were forced into starvation and despair under his merciless rule.
