The protagonist's childhood friend and next door neighbor. She's friendly with him and his sister Suzume and always goes to and from school with them. She's clumsy and akward and always seems to be shouldering some misfortune, the type you can't leave alone because they might get in trouble. Some years ago her parents died so she lives alone.
