He is found together with Nara by Nao and Sachi shortly after they break out of their initial confines. Having witnessed Nao's selfless determination to defend Sachi, Nara and himself from the predators he looks up to Nao as his role model. Nao's unconditional acknowledgement of Yuuri as his friend is a massive influence on the impressionable boy. When he is inadvertently pulled through to New Akatsuki town by Oozaki's rift, he is captured by the Conglomerate and is the first person to exhibit the Baroque powers. The Conglomerate spends the next decade experimenting on Yuuri to discover the mechanics behind his powers until he is freed from his imprisonment by Sabikawa and Oozaki.
