A former emperor who became a monk. He hold more power in the imperial court than even the current emperor. One of the first people to know about the latest styles, he has elegant taste. With his outstanding political sense and diplomacy he has decided that if the Heike flourish he should support them, but if the Genji revive he will support them instead. He has been called a "monster" for the way he has defended that position and his authority.
