One of many occupants living in the same apartment as the protagonist. She is very hostile towards Misaki and eventually, the protagonist, after he said that women who gave birth start to lose their charm. She has one daughter who took a liking to the protagonist when he looked after her while waiting for her mother at the bus stop. Mariko was very grateful, and started to see the protagonist in a better light.
